Moving day was awesome. People made me sit and direct them where to put the (mostly labelled) boxes, so I was not sore by the end of the day. We had 9 helpers: Carolyn, Natalie, Mom, Dad, Doug’s Mom Iris, Rob, Mitch, Sean, and Doug’s brother Chris. Other people drifted in and out to help, as well. It was glorious.

When we drove from apartment to Our Beautiful New House, Doug took the lead with the moving truck, and four cars followed him, me at the rear. As I watched our friends and family following Doug weaving through traffic much like the tail follows the snake head, I thought to myself: “remember this feeling, Thérèse. Remember singing Black Horse and a Cherry Tree at the top of your lungs with the windows down on a warm and sunny April day, watching a procession of people make it toward your house, a house you own with the love of your life. This is what happiness feels like.”

  1. i know this girl ;)

You had so much help on moving day because people love to be around you, your karma is infectious and you bring up people’s spirits….its true…atleast for me.

It is so funny how the smallest simplest thing like watching the caravan to your new house is what happiness really is…people tend to forget about the simple things.

    Thanks for including me :)

    • Thanks for coming! I had so much fun that day, and that whole cocoon of warmth from the friends and family thing was pretty awesome. And your comment right there… it touched me, Carolyn.
